Since the Iranian election, Twitter has been growing rapidly in popularity. It seems that everyone wants to have a Twitter presence and that popularilty is causing problems.
Most Americans are familiar with this sage advice: It is better to be thought a fool and remain silent than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Unfortunately that advice is not being followed over at the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau where they have the Twitter identity, Onlyinsf.
This morning someone at the Bureau dutifully sent out the following information to the world:
Known for its bluesy nightclubs and @asianartmuseum, the country's oldest Japanese neighborhood is not one to miss " http://budurl.com/5bjx
Unfortunately, they were wrong.
For the record: the Asian Art Museum is in the Civic Center neighborhood. Japantown is adjacent to the Fillmore neighborhood. They are not next to (or even close to) one another.
No problem. Everybody makes mistakes and I personally make as many (if not more) than most. I guess the learning experience here is: proofreading!
